After overnight at Hotel Belvedere, it was an early start before the mist had cleared from the valley:

A really stiff climb up to Eremo d'elle Carceri, where St Francis liked to meditate. 

Views along The Way:

Then through woods along rocky trails to Spello, a beautiful hill town:

A tough walk, with a well-deserved rest at the end:
